Inspiration board: Baby’s breath

July 20, 2011

Gypsophila, aka baby’s breath. I can’t decide whether I like the scientific name better. It either gives it a mysterious, exotic flair or makes it sound like a contagious disease. Either way, baby’s breath is making a comeback, y’all. And why wouldn’t it when it’s bundled together in all its delicate finery? It can be wrapped with twine for a rustic look, placed in a large white vase as a dramatic centerpiece, or spread out among small vintage bottles. So many uses for this previously tossed aside stem. Filler flower no more!

Row 1: Bridesmaids, bout, ceremony decor

Row 2: White vase, rustic bouquet, dramatic centerpiece

Row 3: Vintage bottles, mason jar, bouquet, table flowers

What do you think, lovelies? Have you been swayed by this mystical Gypsophila? If so, how would you choose to display it at your wedding?
