Inspiration board: Aqua & yellow

October 12, 2011

Funny story. I made this inspiration board for my lovely bride-to-be who, when we last met, mentioned she loved the combination of aqua/light blue and yellow. But then she told me today that she’s thinking of using a different color palette and wants something a little more classic and traditional. You know what? I think it’s awesome. If there’s anything you’re allowed to do when it comes to planning your wedding it’sĀ changing your mind. Cause it’s yours–all yours. I still like this color combination though. šŸ™‚

Row 1: Menu, bridal bouquet, bouts, signature cocktail

Row 2: Yellow bridesmaids, aqua dress & yellow bouquet, vases

Row 3: Tea cup, sweets table, blue bridesmaids, stationery

Tell me, when you think classic and traditional, what colors come to mind? I’d love to get your opinion.

    As a very seasonally-dependent girl, I have to ask what time of year they’re getting married? Especially if she’s looking for something more traditional.

    [you sound like a very enthusiastic and supportive wedding planner, and that sounds like the best job in the world]

      Elspeth, I’m totally with you. They’re getting married in the early spring. Bring on the brainstorming! šŸ™‚ {And thanks for your kind words!}

        Navy and cream is a classic pairing, as is black/white/____. Our wedding was green, ivory, and gold, and here’s a spring-y example of a bouquet that would fit that color scheme: http://pinterest.com/pin/325119713/.

        I’m also a huge fan of grey for weddings, along with champagne pink. That’s classy and girlie. A dark cabernet shade of red and cream would be beautiful too.

        I’m basically a fan of any dark saturated color paired with cream when it comes to classic and traditional. Warm brown and cream look great together too, with a complementary color thrown in.
